Scorchio! !!!

what a gorgeous day today has been.

sadly I missed most of the sunshine as I was up in Darlington for my work course thing.

I came home to sky like this...

But spent the day with sky like this...

But my garden certainly is loving the weather. My veg in my veg patch are thriving. My pod peas have some flowers on them now.

My lettuce seedlings are looking  good and I planted some more veg seeds at the weekend. Most of them are germinating already.

It's all getting very exciting indeed. I got a grow bag and put my pepper plants into it. Also added a couple of chili plants too.

my little plastic greenhouse thing is a great place for growing seeds...toasty warm in there.

the seeds I have planted now are carrots,  swede, beetroot, spring onions, radish and spinach beets.

Only the spring onions not peeping through yet. I wonder if that is because it isn't spring?

These big questions... where does one find such answers?

I think the weather was even too hot for my pixie puss...

The thermometer on my kitchen windowsill read 25 is degrees...

So, in other news...have had 2 dates with a really nice guy. We might even be going to whitby on saturday evening.

He lives in Harrogate too so not a zillion miles away.

In crochet news, I went to my first croot last Thursday. 

It was a crafty moot hence croot.

we all sat around and knitted, crocheted , sewed and cross stitched.

so my bunting just needs one more triangular bit doing then I can join it all together.

Should be mostly finished tomorrow evening.

Woo hoo

Some rather apt positive news now

Craftivists trying to make minimum wage a living wage,,, all hail the handmade hanky.

So on that note I will bid thee all farewell, I hope you all manage a restful nights sleep.

The summer solstice and other news...

Good evening one and all.

At last a little sunshine and bluesky tonight.

So..how have we all been?

I got up early to greet the solstice with a hot cup of peppermint tea, sadly the cloud obscured the view and it was somewhat disappointing. But the symbolism is more important than a radiant start to the day.

My vegetables are growing nicely.

Here are few snaps...

I grew this from seed last year, , miracle grow is a marvel !

Lettuce seeds planted..honest !

There are definite signs of life with the lettuce seeds.. They have taken up residence in my new little greenhouse thingy. ..

And I have planted this evening some radishes some carrots some red spring onions spinach and swede seeds so we will see if they grow.

Also my capsicum plants have finally been potted up. .

It's all very exciting. . Plus have cut the grass twice now.....phew 

I have started to crochet some bunting from the lovely Lucy  over at attic 24.

she makes the most adorable patterns plus she is a Yorkshire gal yay !

3 down 9 to go !!

I got another little treat from Boots this week...came all cutely packaged too...

Can't wait to ty it..

Girl Power!

Good morning you lovely lot

How are we all today? I hope the full moon didn't mess you week up.

How is your weekend shaping up?

I have 3 whole days off in a row,, quite unprecedented !

So this morning I finally put my lawn mower together and mowed the back lawn.

Have to say it looks pretty good . Will take photographic evidence of course!

Also to show the progression of my veggies

That is proving to be very exciting indeed.

I have a tendency to screenshot lots of things I see on Facebook and then do nothing else with them.

Well all that is going to change,, right here,,, right now!

I will put a couple of things up, see how we get along...

Wise words methinks and these positive messages always give me pause.

This one astounded me, all of these phrases that we just use with no thought for their origin and hey presto! it was the Bard himself..

This one just made me chuckle so much,, what more is there to say?

This one is so full of colour and joy, it would make an amazing tattoo.

It wakes things in me that yearn to be free !

And this one is so stunning,, nothing natural about it but it is just stunning and it is going on my bucket list post haste!

So those are this weeks finds!

Just thinking about Bucket Lists for a minute, do any of you guys have one?

I have one and it grows the longer I think about it.

the top things on it at the moment are

Crush some cars with a tank !

I have plenty more things which are possibly a little more attainable than those.

it was hiding and I found it.

I have to opportunity to go and meet up with some kids I used to go to junior school with in Hull this evening.
I moved away from Hull at the end of junior school and obviously in those days there was no Facebook or texting, so that would make it almost 30 years since I will have seen any of them.

Monday Blues?

Good day to all you lovely lot out there .

I do hope you haven't been hit with a dose of the Monday Blues

They are no fun at all

I am feeling good today, I worked all weekend and so this is my day off YAY

Have a to do list a mile long but that keeps me out of mischief

Sadly mischief is fun at times !!

I had an OK week this week. Picked up a new magazine , well new to me.

its a lovely magazine, lots of lovely stuff to make inside.

It came with a little free kit to make a doggy key ring..

it came out like this

need to think of a name for him !

he is cute!

I got a clematis on Saturday, I LOVE them and this one is so pretty, am going to plant it out today.

Just going back to something I mentioned in my last blog,, I managed to find the picture of my recycling bins,, sad but true, they make me very happy.. so here it is..

I now know that I need to sort out that little flower bed !

I hopefully have the weekend off and the weather is meant to making a turn for the better so that will be on my list.

In other gardening news , things are sprouting on my vegetable patch..

spuds and onions coming out of the ground..

my veg patch is a little speckled with grass mess as when my friend came to cut the grass it was quite long.

the spuds don't seem to mind though!

And the mint and strawberry plants I put in are thriving too

cant make to steep some of that mint,, have some fresh mint tea

bliss!

So after much faffing the pictures are here.

I am going to attempt to assemble my new lawn mower this week and cut the grass myself

bit of girl power due to the lack of a man in my life !
